“I met Gavin within his role as Head of Social Work within the rehab hospital I was admitted. He was like a breath of fresh air needed when I was in a very bad place. Gavin advised me that he was the Director of Integrity Social Work Services and to call him after his normal place of work hours. Gavin was very sympathetic to my situation, and within a few days he had a reply from DCJ FACS Housing regarding my application for emergency housing assistance. This is when things started to move fast. After having my leg amputated and other serious health issues, Gavin made sure that the Senior Manager of the local housing office knew about my disability. Thanks to Integrity Social Work Services, I was granted the Private Rental Subsidy (PRS) and today I have a beautiful new unit that is safe, risk free and with full disability access. After moving overseas for work, I started receiving Centrelink debt notices sent to my old address in Melbourne for $480.00. I had no idea why these debts were raised. I had heard about Integrity Social Work Services through a friend. I spoke to Gavin who was so incredibly helpful and explained that I had to notify Centrelink of any change of circumstances within 14 days. I was going through a traumatic period leading up to my departure. Gavin told me not to worry, and that he would appeal the debt with Centrelink under ‘special circumstances”. He wrote an incredible letter to the debt recovery team including contacting my GP in Sydney to get a medical report. Gavin then called me overseas and organised a conference call with the debt recovery team to make sure they received the letters of appeal. My debt will now be written off. I don’t know how Gavin is able to do this, as I wouldn’t have a clue what to do. I would just have paid the debt. I can’t thank Integrity Social Work for their understanding, support and assurance. There is no one who knows the Centrelink system better than Gavin. One less stress in my life.
